ENHANCEMENT Ticket (approved) 

Instead of a random-generated URL, would be nice to specify a custom URL :-)
Considering IRC's channels.

Perhaps an external service can be utilized (i.e. bit.ly). Any suggestions?

Perhaps our api can be modified to generate our own short urls (anologue.com is a relatively short domain name).
