## Iteration Friday Over here at the Lithium project, we follow a RAD methodology, which was originally proposed by [James Martin](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_application_development). Since that time, many incarnations of rapid development have evolved including Agile, Scrum, and XP. The methodology followed by the Union of RAD is also evolving, but for the most part we focus on strong collaboration, synchronous communication, active unit testing and short iterations. This last point brings up the purpose of this post. Tomorrow, will be the first "Iteration Friday". While tomorrow is not the first time we have done this, tomorrow will be the first time it has a name. Wear your jeans, hawaiian shirt, or funky hat, but do your merging and announce your iteration is ready for use. The goal of "Iteration Friday" is to promote a natural schedule for incremental releases. We believe short iterations promote code quality and development speed. We are not concerned with what is in the iteration. One feature or 1000, it really doesn't matter. But merging in the changes on a regular schedule is good for the team and community, as well as a key enabler of rapid development. We invite you to take part in "Iteration Friday". Set your project on the same schedule and we can party down. Have a look at [iteration-friday.net](http://iteration-friday.net) and tweet when the iteration for your project is ready. ~ gwoo ~
